An Open Letter To The Mom Who Nags Too Much

I just want to start by saying: thank you. I never realized before now how much I truly appreciate you asking me about every little detail of my life. Without your consistency, I do not think I would have anyone as supportive in my life. You are honestly my best friend, and my rock, so thank you for always being there for me, no matter what.

Thank you for always looking after me no matter how old I get, because I know that even though I may get annoyed with your persistent “nagging,” but in the long run you have the best intentions for me and I cannot begin to thank you for that. I am nothing but grateful for you because in the long run you are the only one that I can trust with my vents, my frustrations, and my stresses. It is not just your problems you have to deal with. It is all of our problems. You make sure that everyone is OK and stress free, and I am really grateful for this. Without you being there in everyone’s corner, fighting for us we would have not been as successful as we are today.

No matter what we do, you are always there on our side. I talk to my friends and I see how they are with their parents and you have done the complete opposite of all of them, and I am so appreciative of this. Everyday you make sure that we talk about what is going on in my life, at work, at school and you help me with all of my issues. Even though we are getting older and moving forward in our lives, you will always be there no matter what. When I was younger I use to think that this was you nagging, but instead it is the complete opposite—so thank you for all of this. Thank you for being the mom that everyone is jealous of, even though they do not admit to it.

No matter what we have gone through in our lives, you have always been the best role model for everything. You want nothing but the best for everyone and you have nothing but good intentions. When you see people that you know you are a truly pleasant person to be around, that is why you are so liked. You remember the smallest details about everyone’s personality and life that makes the difference. I look up to you for all of those traits because you are such a great, and well-liked person. Thank you for all of this and more, because in the end I know that everything you have done for me is paved with the best intentions.
