An Open Letter To The Girl That Keeps Going Back to 'Him'

We all have "that guy." The one guy that no matter how long it's been since we've seen him, his call can send us off the deep end. For some girls it isn't as bad as others, even if you wouldn't go back, you reminisce on the good times you had while you were together. For some people, it gives you a memory of a good time in your life and you go back to how happy you are now. For others, it is a constant battle of whether or not you are meant to be and if it's worth it to go back one more time.

My Friend,

I know you think you can't live without him, but you can. If you decide to be with this guy, no matter how toxic he can be, your friends will still love you. They want you to be happy and if he makes you happy, we will be here to pick up the pieces each and every time they fall. Even though we don't ever want to see you treated like you have been, if you can accept the fact that things like this may happen from time to time, all we can do is support you. All we want is to see you happy. On the other hand, if you decide that you don't want to take that anymore, we will take every opportunity to talk shit about him and burn his things that we can. What we really want to say is, do what makes you happy because even if it isn't the best thing for you, we have all been there and bounced back from it. You either end up with the boy of your dreams, or with your best friends looking for the boy of your dreams. Live it up, do you, we love you.

Sincerely,

Your girls

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
