An Open Letter To The Boy Who Loves Me

To the boy who loves me;

Relationships are meant to be balanced, the feeling both share should be in equilibrium if both parties are to enjoy the relationship. Relationships are meant to be enjoyed not endured, and that is the exact type of bond you provide me with.

I sometimes think about the future with you, okay who am I kidding, I always think about the future with you. Day and night. You helped me move passed my past so that I could be genuinely happy and I could never thank you enough for that. When a girl gets hurt by multiple people, it is hard for her to open up again, but you allowed me to take as much time as I needed even if it was frustrating at times and I will always be grateful for that.

You practice faith with me and never throw fits when that early Sunday morning comes. You sing proudly with me even if our voices aren't up to par and when we discuss the service after, I can't help but feel God working through us and for us. That has always been a big thing for me and you never let me down.

Thank you for being someone my little sister can look up to and have fun with. I am so lucky to have someone like you to show her the qualities to look for in a man and to never settle for less. In my book and according to all of my family and friends, you will always trump all of the others. Also, I love how family orientated you are. I enjoy every family picnic we go to whether it be yours or mine. It is so effortless between both that it has become one of my favorite traditions.

I want to not only thank you, but applaud you for putting up with my sassy attitude and keeping up with my sarcasm. Our personalities fit so well that it all makes sense why it never worked out with anyone else. You are my best friend and my go-to. You are the first person I want to call when things get tough because I know you will be right there holding my hand through it. You are the first person I want to hug when I am so close to crying. You love me through it all. I love how you pick up on all of my quirks. Like crinkling my nose when I laugh too hard or when you snap your fingers, or knowing every single tickle spot and are prepared for the unexpected kicks and snorts.

We could be taking road trips and discovering new adventures, or you could be sleeping on my lap while I write this article like you are now. It is all perfect to me and means everything to me that we can be so comfortable and fun with one another. All that I lack, you are. What started as a friendship, quickly evolved into an amazing partnership. I am so lucky to have found you so early.

I do not live with regrets because I feel like each moment has taught me something I needed to know in order to find you. Thank you for being you, and for being mine.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
