Dear Tayvin,
I think I speak for everyone when I ask: what went wrong? You literally seemed like the picture perfect couple. Tay, your photos on Instagram had me wishing so often I had a significant other like that in my life. Between the photos of your tropical getaway, catsitting, and your endless support for one another, your breakup has come as a complete shock to the whole world.
I will never forget when you won the Best Tour Award at the iHeart Awards, Taylor. I was so happy for you when you reminded the world that for the first time, you had someone to go home to when the shows were over. Shortly after that, you celebrated your one-year anniversary on a tropical vacation. You seemed so in love. And I know I wasn’t the only one who saw it. The whole world saw how happy both of you were. You were supposed to get married. When I saw the headline about you guys, I figured this was finally the headline that everybody was waiting for—that the two of you were engaged. I guess the rest of the world and I were wrong.
This relationship just seemed so different. You both seemed so happy and welcoming of each other’s friends. It was like it was meant to be because of how quickly you guys fit so nicely in each other’s worlds. Of course, this perspective is from a hardcore Swiftie looking in from the outside. I wanted so badly for this to work for you two.
Of course, I just hope you guys are okay. I saw the Tweet you sent out, Calvin, that what remains are love and respect. And Tay, this is just an idea, but maybe you can take your time now and go back to the studio to make more music. Swifties have gone too long without new music—but of course, it’s up to you. Like I said, I just hope you're are okay. Breakups and heartbreak are hard enough.
People speculate that your breakup was bound to happen because you, Tay, had a focus on the future, whereas you, Calvin, took things slowly. People say you guys were too different from one another and that as a result, the chemistry wasn’t right. I understand there are two sides to every story. While I’m curious about what happened, I understand that you know the relationship and the reasoning behind the split.
Both of you are talented people who deserve the best in life. I’m sad you broke up only because you seemed so happy and serious. I’m also sad because Tay, I’m a huge fan of yours. I loved seeing you so happy. Like I said, you were picture perfect, but this just points out the fact that every picture has a story behind it.
All the love,
A Proud Swiftie Who Only Wishes the Best
