Dear Spring Break,
Thank you so much for coming. It has been a rough semester and I am so glad you are finally here. I have been looking forward to you since Christmas Break ended. The winter weeks seemed to drag on, and I thought you wouldn't come. This week is going to be great, and I can't wait to see what we will do!
Classes haven't been going so great. My professors have been assigning so many papers, projects and exams. Midterms are finally ending, and the only thing that got me through them was knowing that you were coming. A break is just what I need. I can't wait to be at home with my friends and family and, also, go on a short vacation.
I have been counting down the sleeps each night until I get to go home. To be back in my own bed, cuddle with my dog and hug my parents. I get to see my sister and brother and spend quality time with my family, too. I hope to reunite with my friends from home, as well. Catching up with my family and friends makes me so happy. I have missed them so much and cannot wait to spend a few days at home!
After going home for a few days, I get to travel with my friends for a short vacation to Florida. The thought of the hot sun and sand between my toes is wonderful. After a vitamin-D deprived winter, a trip to the beach is just what I need. My grandparents live in Florida, so I am thrilled that I also get to spend some quality time with them, as well.
Thank you for giving me time to take a mental vacation, too, Spring break. I get a week off to myself to do what I want, when I want. No obligations and a stress free zone. No worrying about classes or deadlines or assignments for a whole week. You are allowing me to be free for the entire week. Sometimes, a little rest and relaxation is all that is needed to push through to the end of the semester.
I feel very blessed because of you. I get to see all my family members and friends, as well as go on a vacation. I get the best of both worlds, and for that, I feel so happy and grateful. I know that, with a week off, I will be able to successfully push through to the next break of the semester: Summer vacation!
Thank you for a fun, relaxing and much needed week off,
A stressed-out college student
