How can you be pro-life when you ultimately cut our lives short when we can't access affordable health care?

Hello Paul,

I'm just a college student living on the West Coast and I doubt you will ever see this...but if you do, please continue reading. Many have already heard that you and the rest of the GOP are trying to defund Planned Parenthood along with the Affordable Care Act. I'm going to guess this whole witch hunt against PP is because you're against abortions. I understand that you may be against abortion due to your religious beliefs. So are many other people in the US. What I don't get is that of all people, you, a politician and lawmaker, don't understand, or want to know that abortions from Planned Parenthood are not funded by federal money?

Do you just hate women? From my perspective, it seems like you have a vendetta against us. Cutting off funding from PP means women who need screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer, etc., won't be able to. How can you be pro-life when you ultimately cut our lives short when we can't access affordable health care? If you don't like abortions, great, don't get one. You don't have a vagina anyways so I'm not sure why destroying women's healthcare is such a big issue for you. Abortions are only one of many things Planned Parenthood offers. Are you against birth control, STD testing, counseling services, contraceptives, and cancer screenings? Mental illness is a big problem in the United States but with PP, women are able to still access affordable counseling from PP. I go to the clinics for cancer screenings and other health-related issues because it's hard to find a doctor that takes my insurance, or is accepting new clients.

This past week hundreds of women standing with Planned Parenthood arrived at your office to deliver boxes containing 87,000 petitions asking you to stop the process to defund the organization. But instead of hearing from the people YOU REPRESENT, you put security guards in front of your office and tried to send them away. Are you really that scared of women who care about their health? You work for us - so why can't you listen to us? When you defund Planned Parenthood and get rid of the ACA, what are your plans for the people who rely on it? To just let them get sick and die? You don't have a plan but you probably don't care. It's easy to not care when you're so privileged and can look away.

So Paul, do you really, really just hate women - and people in general, or are you not looking at the bigger picture? Ask yourself, "Do I have a vagina?" and if your answer is no, shut the fuck up stop playing around with other people's health.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
