Dear roomie, but most importantly BFF,
As we move out and go on separate adventures for these coming three months, I wanted to take this time to thank you for such an unbelievable year. The times we have spent together in (and out) of this tiny room have been nothing short of the best, and this tiny room would not have been the same without you in it.
I have never encountered a bond quite like ours. We know each other like nobody’s business, and I don’t think I have ever met someone with a love for iced coffee as strong as mine. We have probably cried over everything ranging from boys, to school, to running out of dinosaur chicken nuggets. With that being said, I would also like to thank Disney for their endless supply of movies to cure those tears. Let’s not just focus on the sad tears, though. Believe me when I say there were also many happy tears shed, whether from a pizza arriving after an awful day or from laughing so hard it hurts. Trust me, absolutely nothing is funnier than seeing your roommate fall off her lofted bed. The laughs we have shared have definitely been my favorite and I don’t think I could have gotten through the year without the countless jam sessions and ten-second dance parties that were constantly held to keep our sanity.
Sure we have both annoyed the crap out of each other, but that’s why we are kind of like sisters. No matter how many times we steal each other’s clothes, wake each other up when we have an 8 a.m. class, or when we forget our laundry in the dryer and make the other go get it, we will always love each other.
So just to remind you in case you forget this summer: yes that outfit looks good, always post that Insta, and boys will always be stupid. Throughout this year, the phrase, “I mean, I’m basically your boyfriend” has been said more times than I can count by both of us (even when we both already had boyfriends). So with that being said, let’s never break up because well, it would just be too painful. We know too much about each other. We can recite each other’s Cookout order from heart, we get the two for $20 at Chili’s, and we both can’t function without Ben & Jerry’s. I know those things are all about food, but you know how cranky we both get without it.
We’re soul (room)mates, and I am blessed to have had someone to lean on (literally and figuratively) throughout this roller coaster of a first year. You are truly a one of a kind, and it has been an honor to see you grow for the better during our time together. I will miss having our beds four feet apart and having someone to talk to at 2 a.m. when I can’t sleep. Thanks for being the best roommate a girl could ask for.
Sincerely,
Your roomie for life
