Imagine this: You're at a party with some of your friends. It's the end of the school year so you and some friends decide to let off some steam. At the party, you notice a guy eyeing you from across the room. Eventually he comes over to talk to you. Small talk after small talk, things seem to be going well. At least for now. Then comes the sharp turn.
“Why are you single? You’re so great!” “You’re too pretty to be single.” “You’re pretty so i’m sure you have a ton of guys after you.” "I'm sure guys try to talk to you everyday."
To the person who said I'm "too pretty to be single", please stop asking females (or anyone really) these questions. Have you ever thought that maybe she's single because she wants to be? Or because her focus isn't on relationships but on herself and her future?
Her education is her priority. Being in a relationship isn't one of them right now. She'd rather have a girl's night out, or in, with just her closest friends.
She's finding herself. Self-love is the goal right now.
Yes she's pretty, although that has nothing to do with anything, but she's not going to sit around and let some guy walk all over her. Nor does she want to hear that there's a possible correlation between being pretty and self-worth.
Maybe she just got out of a relationship. She's been hurt before. She's tired.
She's enjoying the single life. She's happy just by herself.
She's not ready.
Some people are happy being single and aren't ready to settle down. Some haven't found the right person to settle down with just yet.
Contrary to popular belief, being single can be a choice.
Beauty does not define or determine one's worth. Single or in a relationship also does not define and determine one's worth.
Women, whether they are Cis or Transgender, can be judged on other things besides looks and their love life. Whatever the reason may be, it is no one's business and she does not owe you an explanation.
Whether "being too pretty to be single" was meant to be a compliment or not, relationships and one's love life can be a sensitive topic. It is best not to bring up such things until you know the person well enough, or just not at all.
She loves herself to know what she deserves and won't settle for anything less. That is why she's single.
