Dear My Person,
I can’t believe you're graduating! I am so freakin' proud of you! I always knew you could do it, even when you had doubts of your own. You’re smarter than you think you are, but I’ve always known just how smart you can be. I can’t wait to see you all cute looking in your cap and gown, and walk across that stage like you own it. I’m not going to lie; I may even shed some tears. This past time together with you has been amazing. I know that you are going to kill it in the real world. But, while you're out there adulting, I am still stuck here in college. I hope you don’t forget about me when you go make friends with your new coworkers. Instead of thirsty Thursdays, you’ll be having company happy hours. What am I going to do without you here? Who am I going to order pizza with and watch stupid movies? What if no one wants to meet me for lunch in between classes? I am nervous what my remaining time left in college is going to be like without you; after all you are my person. Thank you for being by my side throughout our time here together, I couldn’t have done it without you.
Please come back and visit me, and we can pretend that you never graduated. We can go to parties in dirty fraternity basements. We can order Chinese food and watch Disney movies. We can do whatever you want, as long as you don’t forget me once you’re in the real world. This is one of the happiest and saddest times of my life. Happy because I get to see my person graduate from college and see where life takes you. But, it’s sad because I have to continue my college career without my person by my side. This may be the weirdest time we have to go through, because our lives are about to be so different. But you’re my person and I’m your person, and we can make it through anything. So, go kick some major butt in the real world. Get an amazing job doing what you love, meet boring people, do what you gotta do. I’ll be here in college for when you need a break from the real world.
Love always,
Your Person
