Life can be rough and that is putting it lightly. If you are reading this, I presume that you are going through a time where you are wanting to know that you are not the only person who is just dealing with, well...everything. I am here to let you know that you aren't.

Over the past few weeks, I have noticed my energetic mood slowly fading and I can't pinpoint exactly what's wrong because everything is coming at me like a tidal wave. My whole life has started to feel exhausting and I just don't understand how to change that. The one thing that bothers me most is, I feel like I am stuck in this same old rut that I am never going to be able to change. My town, my school, my friends, my family and my life is amazing, but I know deep down that my heart is yearning for more.

Life has its own way of challenging us and reminds us that we are right where we are supposed to be, but the problem is, we all start to believe that it is okay to settle and never want more. Throughout your life, you should always believe that there is something better and you should never lose the desire to reach your better. I believe that there is a place out in this world that is going to give me my energetic mood back and this place will be filled with down-to-earth people that can't do anything but make me smile. At some point in time, this rough life that we are all suffering through has to get better.

I believe that we are all in charge of how our life turns out. Sure, there may be some ups and downs, or some bumps in the road, but that is all just part of life. Whatever is bringing negativity into your life, you need to get rid of it. Whether it may be your friends, family, town or even your school, if it is bringing you unwanted negativity, you should delete it from your life.

Just as life challenges us, I am going to challenge you. I am challenging you to become the person you want to be. I am challenging you to find your happiness in this life. Go out and find the one thing, or the many little things, that light a fire of passion in your eyes and never let it burn out. Find the thing that makes you feel worthy of this life. If you are stuck in the same old rut, go do something to make you feel alive. I hope the feeling is so new to you that it is refreshing.

Now, I hope you know that this tidal wave of suffering you are feeling isn't forever, but neither is your happiness. At some point in time, we are all going to have to learn to take the good with the bad and make it into some imperfect fairy tale. Everyone's life is too short to be anything but happy and trust me, I know unhappiness all too well. It isn't a good feeling. I am going to spend every day of the rest of my life chasing my desire for happiness, as should you. Never stop looking for your happiness, because you never know where you just might find it.

Finally, keep your head up, because everything is going to work itself out, even if it is not how you envisioned it. Don't let anyone bring you or your desire for happiness down. I hope that this has given you some hope and you are ready to go chase whatever your heart desires because you deserve nothing but happiness.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
