Mom and Dad,
I wish there were words I could say, or actions that would show, how much I truly care about each of you. You have provided the life, for me, many dream of having, and I am so blessed to be able to say that I am a part of your family. You have given me the perfect example of how a family should work, and how a husband and wife should care and love the other, and that is one of the things I am most thankful for.
Mom – I know I drive you nuts sometimes…don’t worry, you drive me just as crazy (; but I am so so happy you are my mom. You have no idea how much I wish that I could grow to be half the woman you are. I’m sorry that my teenage years weren’t a breeze, but you handled them pretty well.
Thank you for passing on your sassy attitude and fashion sense, your eyes that look for the best in others and your heart that holds enough compassion to fill the world. You have helped make me into the woman I am becoming, and I can’t begin to thank you enough for that. I don’t say it as much as I should, but I love you, and I am so thankful that you are mine. Oh, and to just remind you…you’re awesome…and you’re stuck with me. Forever.
Dad – thank you for loving me without limits. There are quite a few things I have questioned in this life, but it was never if you loved me or not. I know that God blessed me when he sent you to be my earthly father, and I hope that I can marry a guy that is half the man you are, and I will be lucky if he loves me just a fraction of how you love mom.
Thank you for passing on your perfectionism and knack for organization, the satisfaction of finding joy in quiet and solitude, and for passing on the love of anything sweet. Thank you for your example and your love, I love you, and I will always be your little monkey. Always.
You both have continually encouraged and pushed me to do what makes me happy, and I can say that I make the decisions I do because of how you raised me. I hope that I can make you proud one day.
Thank you…
I love you both, immensely.
