Dear Little Ones,
This is your Aunt Donna speaking. What’s up? I hope and pray that you are doing well. Two of you are old enough to understand this and the others will be able to read this in the future so please pay attention. First and foremost, know that I love you very much. I may not always be around all the time, but I will be there as much as I can. I want what’s best for you just like your parents do; although, as you grow up, that may be hard to believe. We all have your back and would fight the world to protect you. I know that not all of what I will say in this letter will make sense to all of you, but I hope that it will someday.
The first thing that I want to tell you, other than how much I love you, is that God loves you very much too. He is the biggest guy in the universe and He cares about you. How cool is that? Let me tell you about Him. My God created the universe and everything in it. He created you and chose you to be a part of my family which makes you spectacularly special. He is not a God that you can see, but one that you read about in the Bible and take on faith. Faith is when you believe in something you cannot see. It’s like when your dad says something and you take it to be true because you trust him. Daddy may not always be right, but most of the time he is. Right? So that is like faith. When daddy says it, it has got to be true. My God is like my Daddy just like your daddy is your daddy to you. At least, He loves me and you like your daddy loves you with a love that will never stop. I will tell you more about God when you are older, but know that He watches over you and protects you and loves you. He does the same for me. He and I make a good team with each of your parents to take care of you so don’t worry about anything. We have your back.
The second thing that I want to tell you is to enjoy being little. I know that you want to get out and see the world. You want to be independent and to do it yourself. That is awesome! Go and live your dreams…when you are old enough to do so. For now, my loves, stay home and enjoy being kids. Kaylin, you are starting school next year and will be brilliant, I’m sure. Enjoy your time at home before going and when you go, you will enjoy it even more. I am so proud of you, little one. You will kill it! For the rest of you munchkins, school is still far away right now. That is okay. Just make messes, mind your parents, and stay cute! You will get your turn. Your parents and I love you and you don’t have to grow up to be special. All four of you are perfect just the way you are. Experience and grow as you must, but don’t be afraid to just be a kid. No one is forcing you to grow up just yet. Let life grow on you instead of you growing up to be with it. Believe me, you will get your turn to be adults so enjoy being little while you can. Trust me. It’s worth it.
The last thing I want to tell you is to be you. Each one of you has a different personality and different set of skills that God has given you. You are all learning and experiencing the world in new ways every day. I don’t want you to ever think that you have to change yourself to please anyone. Those new experiences will bless you and teach you in new ways. Some will be good. Some won’t be so good. Let them come as they come. Let them change you. It will be more fun than you think and very exciting. Think of life as an adventure that you are continually on. In this adventure, you will learn lessons about who you are and who people expect you to be. Let me tell you something now. Please listen to me. What they think of you, doesn’t matter. You are all very young right now and are so special in many ways. You are all God’s gifts and He made you all unique and full of awesomeness. Remember that you can use your awesomeness for good and for evil. These choices will change people’s view of you, but if you just be yourself then what people think won’t matter. You are you and you are still becoming you. Don’t fight you. Be your awesome selves and shine! I will always be around to tell you that you are awesome and to give you advice when you need it. All you can ever be is you and I love each and every one of you.
Remember to be yourself, that God loves you, and I love you. You will do just fine in life. Be little and be free! I am praying for you and I will be around for a while. I will watch you grow up to be even more awesome than you are now (if that is even possible). Need me? Have your parents call me! I am always going to be here whether in spirit or the flesh. I got your backs. Stay cool and be brilliant!
Love,
Aunt Donna
