Dear Grandkids,
First off, as your future grandma, I have the right to spoil you no matter what your parents think. Before you come into this world, I must warn you, it's a pretty scary place. There's a lot of things that can hurt you, but your parents and I will protect you. So, don't be afraid little one, I know you're going to cry when you see and feel some of the horrors when you're here but that's okay. I cry about it sometimes too. I know things are going to be tough, trust me I've been there and lived it myself. You'll make it though, I know you will, if you have my genes I know you'll survive it.
Once you get into school all you'll want to do is get out. Don't wish it all away, because believe it or not these will be the best years of your life. I don't know how your school system will be, and I know you won't be raised the same way I was. But, there are some things that you won't quite understand and if I taught my children anything was to always ask for help. It helps you understand some things that you may not have seen before.
Overtime you'll be exposed to some things that a child at your age shouldn't be exposed to. I know that no matter how hard your parents try to shield you from it, you'll end up seeing it either way. Some of the things that you will see are good examples of what you don't want to do. Just remember that. I will always be here if you're afraid to ask your parents about something, I won't tell them I promise.
Once you go to high school I may or may not be around, but if I am I want to go prom shopping and lunches with you. Just to spend as much time with you as I can. In high school you get your heart broken and be sad at times, but you're strong. You're strength will truly be shown in the darkest of times. I know for a fact that when I was in high school, I had a lot of fun, but there were times I thought I was just going to die. I later realized that no matter what someone is always there who's got my back. If you don't have any good friends at school then come to me. I will always be here with open arms and cookies, I know what it's like pumpkin I've been there.
I hope to live long enough to watch you grow into a wonderful human being. There is nothing that I want more in the world than for you to grow up in a family who is always there for each other. Many kids in our days were growing up in broken families, me being one of them. I don't want that kind of life for you. I want you to have the best family in the world because you are our pride and joy, your parents pride and joy. We will always love you, and no matter what happens we will be here for you and support you.
With all my love and more,
Your Future Grandma
P.S. Don't let your other grandma fool you, I'm the coolest one!
