An Open Letter To My New Member Class:
As cliché as it sounds, accepting my bid to Tri Sigma was one of the best decisions of my life. Most people give shout outs to their bigs, littles, or pledge moms but how often do we recognize the girls who we started our lifelong journey with. Our pledge class are the girls who sat through countless hours of study sessions, meetings, craft sessions, etc. and these are the girls that became your best friends and you didn’t even know it. They are the part of you that you didn’t even think was missing. So, I figured it would be an honor to pay tribute to my beautiful sisters of my new member class.
To the beautiful women of fall 15’,
Thank you for always having my back and being there for me.
I may have not realized that I needed a shoulder to cry on at the time, or someone to sit and vent with about something I was upset about, but when the time came you never failed to be by my side. Thank you for the cuddles and hugs that I’ve needed when I’m homesick, and of course just as you did for me, I will always be there for you no matter what.
Thank you for teaching me something about myself.
This journey of being a new member has not only taught me about my chapter but about myself. Watching everyone grow into amazing women has made me realize the type of person I want to grow into.
Thank you for teaching me to love me.
I never thought that I would find the girls that would make me proud to be who I am, and you did just that. No matter how weird I am, or gross I look, you always somehow make me feel confident in myself, and I love you for that.
Thank you for putting up with me.
I know I’m not always the most pleasant person to be around, especially when I haven’t gotten any sleep or eaten any dinner, but you’re always still able to somehow manage to keep me company.
Thank you for being the best social networkers there are.
You always know the best angles, poses, and filters to make us all look good, and when it doesn’t come to taking the photo, I know I can always count on you for a quick like on that Instagram selfie.
Thank you for your honest opinions,
Because let’s be honest, sometimes I have drunk too much and need to go home.
Thank you for the birthday wishes.
It’s always lovely to start your day off right with a couple sweet texts from your sisters.
But most importantly thank you for being you!
The days we’ve spent together have been some of the best days I’ve had in college, and I wouldn’t change it for the world. I would have never thought in a million years, that the day I got my bid, was also the day I met my best friends and true sisters. We are all a crazy group of girls, but somehow we make it work. So, as we continue our next semesters with each other, I just want you girls to know how much I love you all!
