Here's to you, my new BFFs!

An Open Letter To My New Best Friends

To my amazing, selfless, crazy BFFs,

Where do I begin? As I sit down and write this, the memories we have created in the few short months of knowing each other race through my head. To think that we just met a few months ago is alarming, as I feel like I've known everyone of you since childhood. The laughs, memories, heartfelt moments, snuggles, jam sessions to Drake in the shower to pajama dance parties on weeknights (we're a bit of procrastinators) bring a smile and a giggle to my face. I want you to know that nothing you do for me goes unappreciated or unnoticed, and I love you all as my own sisters. I guess I can just start with thanking you.

Thank you for your support, selflessness, advice, hilariousness and looking out for me with my best interest at heart at all times. There isn't a day that goes by where I wish I wasn't where I am, and it is truly all because of you. I honestly don't know where I would be right now without you guys.

From dancing at DJ's (freshmen bar) to partying at a frat or sports house, to nights in watching Netflix ("The Office" is our newest fav) or a hockey game (Go Islanders!), I am never bored, rarely sad and always feeling loved by you guys.

Thank you for your hugs, jokes and mutual love of coffee and dining hall omlettes on weekend mornings.

Thank you for looking out for my best interest, from boy troubles, fashion advice or academic questions. Small tidbit of what I've learned: Chipotle, "Trainwreck" and BFFs in snuggies are the solutions to any and all bad days or problems.

You girls have made me feel right at home, and the transition to college has been fun, easy and much less scary than it appears to be on TV, all because of you guys. I am nothing but excited excited for the next four years together. Through our ups and downs, you are my best friends--not just "college friends," but actual best friends; I couldn't ask for a better group of girls to spend my college experience with. Just wait until we can laugh about all of our memories together when we're 100 or so many years from now! Here's to you, girls, my 'Cuse day one's!

With love always,

Lauren Dana

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
