Open Letter To My Nana In Heaven.

I Miss You.

Open Letter To My Nana In Heaven.

Dear Nana,

I miss your smile, and your sarcasm, and I just miss you. I had to fight back tears all day on January 4th, the 8 year anniversary of your passing. With everyday passing, I never go a day without thinking of you. I know in my heart that you are still here with me somehow, somewhere, because I know I would not be who I am without you. What I would give to have more time with you, as I'm getting older.

Its selfish thinking, but I sometimes wonder why it had to happen to you? Why did this happen to my family? Why did it all have to happen when I was so young? Even though I was young, 9 to be exact, the strength you showed me was admirable. You were a fighter and fought your body for years. You never gave up the fight, at any point and soon became my hero. You always had good spirit, and even the days when you were a little grumpy, you would still smile when you saw me. (Have to admit, even when you were grumpy you had a vibrant spirit)

I remember playing the violin for you, I was never the best player, but you told me that it was exceptional. Another fond memory is the song you would sing, I can only remember like two lines, which is sad. "A you're adorable, B you're so beautiful...", I don't know the rest and it saddens me, but I know that you are here and still sending the lyrics and continue to. I know that whenever I go through a difficult time, you are there, helping me get through it.

I still remember the day we got the call. That morning a dog came up to my living room window and barked. I don't believe in a lot of things, but theres a huge part of me that believes the dog is a sign of you. It might seem a bit crazy but, your one for dogs shined through because a couple of hours later, my uncle called and told us you were gone.

I thank you for being the incredible person you were, and for even though youre not physically here, youre still here for me. I know youre always here guiding and protecting me. While I know you will never physically see this, I hope that some how, you'll know about this article, and be able to know what it says, and to know how much I miss you and love you.

With Love,

Your Favorite Granddaughter

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
