Today and every day you deserve to be celebrated, so I’m going to do the best that I can to express my appreciation for you.
When friends fail and mom is unreasonable, you’re the one I turn to, so thank you for being constant.
When I trip over myself and break my arm or cause the team to lose, thank you for being my biggest cheerleader.
When my world seems to be falling apart, thank you for being a voice of reason and reminding me that there are bigger things in store.
On days when I feel like a can of corned beef hash, thank you for telling me that I am beautiful.
Thank you for taking a step back to let me figure things out for myself (and thank you for being there when I fail miserably).
Thank you for being patient with me and loving me when I least deserve it, because that is when I really need it.
Thank you for forgiving me when I disobey you, because in that I learned what grace is.
Thank you for knowing me better than I know myself.
Thank you for sacrificing time and your own desires for my happiness.
Thank you for working on my behalf.
Thank you for giving me a glimpse of what pure, relentless love looks like.
Thank you for being the ultimate Father. Thank you for being who You are in spite of who I am. I deserve death, but you give me second, third, fourth, and endless chances. When my mom, my best friend, my boyfriend, and earthly father fail me, you are constant. Father God, I can’t wait for the day that I get to meet you face-to-face and thank you for the life you have given me.
