It can be a pretty daunting task to face this big, old world alone. Luckily I can say I have a huge support system to get me through everything. With that I'd like to direct this letter to my best guy friend because what girl doesn't need to give him a little shout out here and there?

Dear friend,

You let me be whoever I feel like being. Some days I am a crazy neurotic mess who can't decide which pants to wear let alone how to live my life. You never waiver in your ability to adjust to how I'm feeling. When I'm stressed, you're calm and wiser than your years. When I'm happy, you're telling me funny stories about how bad ass you've become. When I'm sad you have a hug just waiting for me and when I'm lost you're right there next to me.

I can not and never will be able to express how appreciative I am of you and everything you are to me. You're the one I call at 4:00 am because it's too late to call my mom but I have to tell someone that I'm doubting my major again. Sometimes I just need a friend to tell me that if I drop out of college to live a mediocre life I would regret it. You're also the one I call about boys. Boys are mean and boys are dumb but somehow you're not. Somehow you recognize when a guy is a suitable contender for my heart. By the way, this time around I think you gave me some great advice in the romance department.

You are also a constant example of the type of person I strive to be every single day. I want to be patient, kind, and forgiving. You stood by me when I could not help myself out of a horrible relationship and you've encouraged me every day to find what or who makes me happy.Kindness literally flows from you and it is honestly so awesome. Your smile is contagious and it amazes me that even when we hit up an unhealthy restaurant because I have a cheese fry craving and you get overcharged you still tip and grin as we leave.

I also want to say I'm extremely proud of you. When we met you were shy and pretty nerdy. But you were also super funny and very smart! You have changed so much in just the few years I have had the pleasure of knowing you and you have grown into a man a mother could only dream of! Whatever you do, never stop on this journey to be the best you.

Ps. I am ridiculously excited for our best friends road trip. I'm pretty sure planning this and executing it is like #bestfriendgoals or something so everyone can just be jealous of us this spring break!
