Mama,

A thank you in words will never be enough to express how lucky and blessed I am to have you in my life. Your strength is inspiring, your kindness is contagious and your love is never ending. The lessons I have learned from you will stay with me for life and while I'm off at college learning some of life's lessons on my own I feel your support even miles away. This year has been a rollercoaster ride, but through it all your strength never fell. Sometimes I really don't know how you do it. It seems like your plate is constantly full but no matter the situation you never lose hope, and you never let me lose hope either. One day I aspire to be the strong woman you are, but quite honestly I don't know if that's even possible.I will forever be grateful for the sacrifices and decisions you made to better the lives for us. I hope one day to live a life that will do justice to all the sacrifices you made. So, this Mother's Day here's a few "thank yous" that were left unspoken.

Thank you for being my best friend.

Thank you for putting me and my brothers before everything else.

Thank you for being our strength through the hardest of times.

Thank you for the sacrifices you made to give us the best life you could.

Thank you for teaching me how to embrace the imperfections.

Thank you for teaching me to never give up.

Thank you for being there when the stresses of life made me feel so alone.

Thank you for teaching me how to have courage in the toughest situations.

Thank you for all the advice throughout the years.

Thank you for being whatever role you needed to be in the time being.

Thank you for always making sure my heart were as full as my stomach.

Thank you for the everlasting support.

Thank you for making me feel important.

Thank you for being there through it all.

Thank you for pushing me to be successful in all that I did.

Thank you for being such an amazing role model.

Thank you for teaching me the importance of family.

Thank you for teaching me the meaning of love.

Thank you for being my role model.

Thank you for taking a bad situation and turning it into a learning experience.

Thank you for being a constant in my life.

Thank you the endless amount of much needed hugs and kisses.

Thank you for filling my life with so much love and support.

Thank you for all the crazy adventures that turned into the best memories.

Thank you for letting me make my own mistakes and being there to help me back up.

Thank you for so much more but most of all,

Thank you for being my sunshine when skies are grey.

I love you forever, mama. Happy Mothers Day!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
