An Open Letter To The Man Who Falls In Love With My Best Friend

To the luckiest man in the world,

You have won the prize of all prizes. The girl you are now head over heels in love with is one of my favorite people in this world. You may think you know her but there are just a few things I want to make sure you understand. This girl is beautiful. Not just because she makes every jaw drop when she enters a room, but because her heart is one of a kind. She loves with all of her heart and when she falls in love, she falls hard.

My prayer is that you make sure she never forgets how beautiful she is. I have seen her at her worst of times, when she forgets how amazing she is. If you're truly in love with her, you will be sure that these times are few and far between. Our friendship is full of laughter. I hope that your relationship will also be full of this. She is goofy and hilarious without even trying.

I also pray that you understand her strength. She has been through a lot in her life. There have been trials and tribulations. People have let her down and broken her trust. If you really are in love with my best friend, you will not do anything to hurt her. It may seem like I am setting high expectations, but she deserves that. She deserves someone who sees her worth and understands that he is the lucky one.

And if you think I am hard to impress, just wait until you meet her mama. That woman is one of the most kind-hearted and strongest women I have ever met and if you think you're in love with her daughter, you had better make sure you have your act together. I believe that God has a special person picked out for everyone. If you are the chosen one for my best friend, I pray that you understand how lucky you are. I pray that you treat her with the utmost respect. I pray that she never looks in the mirror and questions her beauty because you've made her feel beautiful. I pray that you can make her smile and laugh like no one else.

She is a very special person to me and I hope you treasure her. And if you end up marrying her, I promise to be only a phone call away if you ever need advice for gifts or if you've made a mistake. Also, you will have to deal with me for the rest of your life, so congratulations!
