Dear Jessica Day,
I wanted to write a thank you for everything you've done for me and girls like myself. You have shown us that it is okay to be one-hundred percent ourselves, completely and apologetically. You are your quirky self all of the time and it gives me courage to be myself, no matter what other people think. I'm able to do this because I found friends very similar to the ones you have; they're loyal, and crazy, and would do absolutely anything for me.
Another thing I wanted to thank you for is how passionate your are and how unabashed you are to let people know just how much something means to you. You are a teacher who loves her job to death, no matter the child or the obstacle. It is something you love to do and would never give up. It really gives me the courage to settle for nothing less than something I am completely crazy about. So many people fall into jobs simply because of the money or because it's what other people want them to do, but I plan to strive for nothing less than what makes me happy.
Lastly, I want to thank you for never giving up on your dreams. You taught us all that things in life can hurt and set you back, but it's never the end, and it's never the time to give up. You're an inspiration to girls everywhere who feel like they just don't fit in, or they're not exactly the prettiest, or the smartest, or the most successful. You taught us that it doesn't matter as long as long as we know how to love ourselves, and to roll with both the good times and the bad.
