Through all the Starbucks Fraps and crying at cats, I can say that having you inside my mind has lead to have an interesting high school and life experience. The clothes, memes, and stereotypes have lead to people thinking you're a burden, but i can say you are not. Here are a few things I have learned along the way throughout our journey.
I am more of you, than you are of me
Ever since you arrived into my life, I have noticed a considerable difference in my life. Not just in my personality, but my wardrobe has become a mix full of leggings, Uggs and over sized sweaters. I have now mastered the art of having my eyebrows on "fleek" and looking tan in the middle of winter.
Girl, you look cute and you know it
On days when you want me to “mix it up,” from the normal “birks” and leggings, we shoot for a sporty look with our Nike running attire from head to toe. We may not use it for running, but the cute selfies that come out of it, make it worth it. I can fully say that your influence on my need to constantly shop for the newest, cutest pair of running shoes has become a bit extreme, but you do you, though you just may be a made up figure in my head, you slay constantly.
“Like seriously though…”
I have grown to love our new catch phrases which have become our inside joke. “I literally, can not even right now," "Like i'm dying right now," and "like can you not?” is like literally just secret code for “I’m hangry.”
We do it for the likes
Starbucks, Panera, and cute locally own organic food stands help to get rid of the hangry feeling, while also getting rid of my entire pay check. Getting the chance to show everyone on my Snapchat, Instagram, and Twitter the amazing fresh Kale bundle we bought, even if it was way out of our price range, became our weekly thing. Even though it has made me 100% broke, it is 100% worth the growth in followers I gained.
Our free time looks like movie scenes
From mastering the art of yoga in our Lulu Lemon leggings to binge watching Mean Girls, Pitch Perfect, and the Notebook while drinking a glass of red wine because it has more antioxidants than white and cuddling with my cats, to eating a gallon of ice cream after our last break up with what we thought was our future husband (you and I had spent so much time thinking of what color his and I's kids monogram Columbia jackets would be) I can say that the movies about the "basic white girls" match our hang out moments spot on.
Beyonce is Queen, Taylor Swift is Life
Can I give you some advice? As our favorite inspirational singer, Taylor Swift, once said, “...The haters gonna hate, hate, hate…” and no matter what anyone says, I know that you are a crucial part of my life and without you, I wouldn’t be the amazing person that I am today. Even though you make me crazy sometimes forcing me to be “one of those girls” who always has to make sure her messy bun is *just* messy enough to be cute, I can say that using the words of Beyonce, “Some call it ‘arrogant’, I call it ‘confident’" and that is exactly what you make me feel inside when I look great head to toe from your advice.
So shout you to you, my inner basic white girl. I hope this wonderful relationship, though it may only be in my head, will continue to grow and we can be basic forever. I love you.
