There are things I want you to know when you are about to date my best friend. I have so many high hopes for you, and I want to make sure you know how lucky you are. I can't wait to get to know you.
1. He and I are friends.
This is something I want to stress. You don't have to worry about me, I promise I'm not a threat. We have been friends for years, he and I. Yes, sometimes people mistake us for dating but we know we are friends and that's never going to change. Sometimes you meet people and they have one purpose in your life, and his purpose is to be my best friend.
2. You will also be my friend.
I assume since you're dating my best friend, I will be seeing a lot of you. If he likes you, there's a strong possibility that I will like you too. He usually has a good judgement most of the time. I will probably be hanging out with you both, so why don't we just be friends too?
3. He's been through a lot.
I've been there for him through all the family, friend, and relationship drama. I've stuck by him crazy girlfriend after crazy girlfriend. I can't begin to tell you how much he has been through. Please be good to him. Be a positive person in his life because he has had far too many negative ones.
4. He is so caring.
Who do I go to when I am having relationship, friend, or family problems? Him, that's right. I'm so excited for you because you get to be dating one of the most caring people I know. He will care about you more than he cares about himself.
5. He's a good boyfriend.
I have seen how he takes care of his girlfriends. They are his priority. He will make sure you are always happy and never hungry. He's really good at the making-sure-you're-never-hungry part. He will keep you on task. You won't be hanging out with him until you have your homework done. Not because he doesn't want to hang out, but because he cares about your education and wants you to succeed. Just know, he will be a great boyfriend.
6. He deserves a good one.
He is a great guy. Girls in the past have not measured up to what they need to be for him. He has a lot of insecurities and you need to be the one to show him that not all girls are the same. I have tried, but I can't be that person in his life. All I want is a good girl for him. He deserves so much more than what he is given. Please to be good to him. Live up to my expectations for you and be prepared because they are pretty high.
