Dear Mom,
Hi, Mom. First, I want to start off by thanking you for giving birth to me; you were truly blessed to have a daughter as wonderful as me. However, I was even more blessed with such a strong mother.
While in elementary and middle school, I never really understand how much you did for the whole family and me. Every day, you were up before the sun came up to ensure you could get yourself ready and then help everyone else get ready too. Between breakfast, packing lunches and laying out clothes, you always seemed to have everything in order for you and me, and I never really realized how hard that must have been until high school and I had to do it alone.
When high school came around and I had to start getting up, getting myself ready and gathering all my belongings for the day, I began to miss the days when you would sing me the "Good Morning" song that I dreaded to hear in middle school. There were days that I would be at school before the sun came up for practice or a pep rally, and I missed having my breakfast and lunch ready to go.
However, nothing really set in until I was in college and no longer living with you. That's when I truly came to the realization that I had the best mom in the world. Being two hours away from you and not being able to come snuggle at nighttime, or beg you to make me dinner, put into the reality that I am becoming an adult and will not have you with me 24/7 anymore. I am growing up, and it sucks. Being a sophomore in college, watching my friends and I slowly find our career paths, looking for internships and making “big girl” purchases is all exciting, however, it also makes me sad that I will not be your little girl anymore.
So ultimately, this whole letter is just a thank you. Thank you for being so wonderful and doing everything you do for the family every single day. Thank you for being understanding when I am having problems. Thank you for always picking up the phone when I need to talk (well, at least almost all the time). Thank you for the unconditional love you give to not only me, but my siblings and the rest of the family.
Thank you for being my mom.
Love You!
