Sorority recruitment is one of the most stressful yet rewarding times in any sorority girl's life. It is stressful in that there are crazy amounts of preparation, outfit details, decorations, and overall planning. However, in the end it is such a rewarding process because you gain lots of new sisters who you can share your love with.
As a women who has fallen completely head over heels for her sorority, I am not only eager to experience recruitment for the first time, but I am truly eager to share my love for such a wonderful organization. Coming into college, I never really saw myself as the sorority type, but I honestly could not let myself pass up such a wonderful opportunity. With that, I decided to give it a shot, and boy am I shocked by where I am at today. Not only have I gained so many beautiful sisters, but I have also gained a second family, a home away from home, a constant support system, and lifelong friendships. I could never imagine thanking my sorority enough for everything that it has given me, and I am beyond blessed to belong to something that is worth so much. With recruitment drawing near in my Greek community, I just can not contain my excitement because I know that I could be making the same dreams that I had come true for another special woman like me.
To all of my future sisters, I truly hope that you are inspired just like I was to become a part of something that is much larger than yourself because it is definitely one of the best decisions you could ever make. I hope that you will not only thrive, but will grow to be the best woman that you can be. No matter what life throws at you, your sisters will always be there to help you along the way or guide you home if you find yourself astray. You probably hear this a lot, but I promise it is not just for four years. I know I am only going into my second year, but I know in my heart that the relationships you are going to build within sisterhood are truly some of the most genuine and eternal ties that bind us. No matter where you find yourself, a piece of each and every sister always remains in your heart.
Sisterhood will literally become everything to you, and I hope that you feel like you can laugh with us, cry with us, believe in us, confide in us, grow with us, encourage us, fight for us, love us, and even teach us. "A good friend knows all of your best stories, but a sister has lived them with you."
Just know that all of our sisters are counting down the days until your arrival, and we are eagerly awaiting the moment that you run home into our arms.
