A Letter Of Appreciation To My Sister Who Has Had My Back Since I Was Born

Nikki,

I am so happy to have you in my life. I know we have not always gotten along with one another, but that is normal for sisters to fight from time to time. I want you to know I have your back. No matter what happens in life, you should know I am only a call, text or drive away. I would be happy to come over and talk or just hang out. I love you so much. I am thankful we have each other.

I love how we can talk and laugh about anything. I know having the age gap of eight years has not always been easy. For the longest time, you felt more of like a second mom to me than a sister. I know that had to be hard on you while we were growing up.

Maybe that is why we did not play a lot together. I know I got on your nerves a lot too. Thank you for putting up with me. It is hard enough growing up and figuring things out. I know no matter how annoying I got, you love me. I looked up to you, and I still do. I do not know if you realize that or not.

I am also enjoying getting to know your beautiful girls. My nieces are growing so fast, and I am so thankful to be able to spend time with them. I know it is hard to get together, even though we live in the same town, but at least states are not between us anymore. I love seeing them play with their cousin. It is so lovely to see them interact so happily.

I can see the joy in your eyes when you look at him too. He giggles and looks away in a shy way, but only because he wants to play with you. I love seeing both of you smile when y'all play together.

I am appreciative that you have my back as well. You have always been there for me, even if I did not realize it. Thank you for helping out whenever I need you, too. Even with your busy schedule, you figured out how to help. I may not talk to you as often as I would like, but I know you know that we both get swamped with the craziness of everyday life.

I look forward to getting to know you more as time goes on and we hang out more often. Our sisterly bond will grow stronger and stronger. I look forward to seeing your children grow up and be just like you: amazing, smart, beautiful and able to conquer anything thrown their way.

The way you love and nurture them is fantastic, and you teach them so much. They are lucky to have you as a mother. Last but not least, thank you for being there for me no matter what. I know I said that earlier, but it is true. I appreciate you, and I am thankful to have you as my sister. I hope we can get together again soon.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
