Dear Friend,
Hi, how are you? I hope you’re having an amazing time studying abroad and taking in the sights and sounds of everywhere you go. I hope you are having the time of your life. I hope it’s everything you wanted the experience to be and more.
I love seeing all the pictures you upload. I am thoroughly enjoying living vicariously through you. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jealous of all the places you’ve been, and all the places you'll be going to. I wish I could be by your side exploring you with them. But, keep on taking lots and lots of pictures, so I can continue to watch your journey.
I’m so glad that you have made friends too that you are able to do all these new fun things with. I hope you all are bonding and adapting to your new lives so far from home together. These new friends I'm sure are awesome (or you wouldn't be friends with them), but don't forget about us little people back home, living the same ole boring life you left behind for the semester.
It’s tough that we don’t talk everyday like we used to, and the time difference doesn’t help much either. I miss talking to you and telling you every little insignificant detail of my life, and I miss hearing everything that's going on in your life too. But, I really look forward to the times we are able to Skype, despite the bad connection, or when we are able to text and have a legit conversation. I try to keep a mental list of things I need to tell you whenever I talk to you, so you won’t miss out on anything going on in my life. I also love hearing all about everything you have done. I know people say they want to “hear everything” about what someone does when they go away, but they don’t necessarily mean it. I genuinely do. I love knowing that you’re having a good time, and it makes me feel more involved in your life hearing your stories.
It’s still weird to me that you’re on a totally different continent than I am. I still feel like you should just walk through the door any minute now, or we should be sitting on my bed crying laughing about the dumbest thing. I can't wait to do that every day next year. I can’t wait for you to be back and to see you again. I don’t want to rush you though. I’m sure you want to continue enjoying your time abroad without thinking about it coming to an end just yet. So, keep living it up and have as many adventures as possible. Make tons of memories that you'll be able to cherish for the rest of your life. Make sure you do everything you want to do and leave with no regrets. And remember, whenever you need to hear a friendly voice from home, I am just a text or Skype call away. I miss you, and I'll see you soon.
Love,
Your Friend
