Dear friends,
You know who you are: the ones who have always been there, the ones with whom communication is always easy, the ones that just get me. You are the friends that understand when I disappear from the world for a bit and never make it awkward when I come back. We're both busy, and you get that. We have lives and priorities, but we'll always have each other. You are the friends that remind me that, yes, people truly are good. I'll always have your back and you'll always have mine without a doubt. Whether we're sitting around or going out, we always know how to have a good time and it never feels like I have to be somebody I'm not and for that, I'm very thankful. From my awkward chubby stage to my even more awkward freshman year in college stage, you have remained by my side and loved me consistently. I know you guys will be there at any given second with the push of a button or a simple call and I wouldn't trade that for the world.
I'm lucky to have a handful of forever friends that I've accumulated throughout the years. Some I've known since first grade, and some since last semester, but the strength of our friendship is ignorant of time. We've laughed together, we've cried together, we've picked up the pieces of our dignity together, and those memories will stay with me for the rest of my life. I consider myself a very independent person and though I hate asking for help, I know it's available if I do need it. I sometimes forget how blessed I am to have a supportive network of amazing people in my circle, but I never take it for granted. We have the type of friendship that no fight or misunderstanding could pull apart because we have a mutual understanding of each other. I respect you and you respect me; we know each other, our boundaries, and most everything in between.
From the random food runs to study dates to asking ourselves why we're still awake at five in the morning, our adventures are endless. Even though life gets hectic and we sometimes have to make appointments to see each other, we cherish that time together and it's like we were never apart. I can tell you anything without fear of judgement and I hope you feel you can do the same. I'm not a fan of one-way streets and I try not to make our friendship seem like one. I realize that I'm not perfect and nobody is, but I hope that in some way I can inspire or help you on your path to becoming your best self. For believing in me and making me better each and every day, I thank you. I wouldn't be the person I am today without you all.
