Dear you,
I don't know who you are; if you are Asian, black, white, Hispanic or any other race. I don't know if you are a good student or bad student, or male or female. I don't know if you are a super athlete or even a drug dealer. I don't know if you're a saint or a felon. I may not know a thing about you, but this letter is still for YOU.
I want you to know that the world needs you. The world needs your talents, your love, and even your weaknesses. The world needs your smile, your hard work, and your positivity. The world needs your bad jokes and quirks.I know you are trying, like most of us, to swim just to keep your head above all the hate in the world. But as Dory says, "Just keep swimming" and don't let yourself drown in that hate. Have the courage to be a light to others. The world needs that light now more than ever. And together, if we all turn on the little cell phone lights of our heart, we can brighten up an entire dark stadium and create something beautiful.
The Shack says, if anything matters, everything matters. Never forget that. You don't have to be Ghandi to change the world. Maybe your kind Instagram comment just made someone's day. The little good you do sends out rippling waves to those around you. You are important.
Finally, I want you to know you are worthy. The world may not tell you that. They may say you are not skinny enough, not white enough, not smart enough, not fast enough, not [fill in the blank] enough. That is a lie. Even if you are the darkest criminal, you are still worthy. You are worthy because you are human and you are created in God's image. Nothing can change that. Even if I do not know you, I am your sister and you are my brother and I will fight for you. I will struggle for you. I will try my best to understand where you are coming from and listen to your opinion. If we all treat each other as family, we would be united instead of torn apart.
As you know, lately all we see in the world is hate. But this is proof that love still exists, and it will always prevail. I challenge you to share this with someone that you care about, or even someone that you do not know. Let's turn on that cell phone light and start spreading love and joy to brighten up the dark football stadium of this world.
You are needed, you matter, you are worthy, and you are loved.
Pass it on.
With love,
Me
