An Open Letter To My Biggest Supporter

Mommy-

I know there are a countless amount of letters out there from a daughter to her mom, but I couldn't not write one to you.

I just need to start off by saying the words "thank you" will never even come close to showing how thankful I am for you. You support me in every crazy decision I make, and when I went through my crazy high school party years you never gave up on me becoming a wonderful woman, and I have you to thank for who I've become today.

I know that because of you I've learned my priorities at an early age. You've always seen the good in me, even when I wasn't showing it. You've also always gave me the confidence to do anything. You made me feel confident in the crazy outfit I wore at my first 7th-grade dance, and from then on you made me feel confident in whatever I did.

You have always been and will always be my biggest supporter. You are always the most important opinion I value. I will always care what you think of me and what I'm doing and it will always matter to me, so thank you for always giving me good advice and knowing in your heart what I truly want in life. Without you, I know I wouldn't be where I am today.

You have the most beautiful soul, and I will always look up to you. You are such a wonderful woman who is always firm in her own thoughts and never changes for anyone. You say how you feel and are not afraid to say what is right. Being a dance teacher, you have many students who look up to you every day and value how you feel about them, and that makes you an even stronger woman.

Thank you again for being my forever supporter, most valued opinion, and biggest role model. I could never be who I am today without you, so thank you millions. I love you with all of my heart.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
