By the time this is posted I’ll know you, but sitting here waiting for the reveal I can’t help but think of everything there is to come. Though we’re all sisters, you will be my family. You’ll be a guardian, a mentor, a friend, someone who will listen to my rants and fears and excitement and I will do the same to you. You’ll be my midnight call and my morning brunch date, the keeper of my secrets and the encouragement of my goals

I will look up to you, you’re someone who will have my trust and love, who will inspire me to reach further, set more goals, put my future before the weekend and take a break when I’ve earned it. You’ll show me what it truly means to be a sister, to be part of a community that strives to better its members and the world as a whole.

I will gain experiences with you. Together we’ll have 2 AM talks and new adventures, we’ll do movie nights and morning coffees, through months apart we’ll keep in touch, through years of life moving us in different places you will be my person as I am yours.

I will meet the people you care about and love them because you do. I will meet your big and the family that came before me, I’ll be welcomed in with open arms and I will do everything I can to deserve my spot. I’ll meet your significant other and best friend, know your roommate and your parents, I’ll be dragging you to do the same, introducing you with pride as the person who keeps me sane.

I will do all of this for you. I will be someone you will be able to trust. I will have your back, listen to your problems, give advice when you want it or just be a listening ear. I will surprise you when you have a bad day and congratulate you when things are great, I will encourage you to continue your journey to do new things, to better yourself, to better the world. I will be with you through the hard times, a shoulder to cry on, someone to make you forget for an hour or a night. I will be your cheerleader to clap from the sidelines and take photos, a proud sister and friend.

I’m so excited for the reveal, but I’m even more excited for everything that comes after. I want to be the little that is everything you could have hoped for, that will take in my own little to guide them as you did me, so our family continues and our sorority grows bigger and closer. Thank you for choosing me as I did you. As we both know well, love is the greatest of all things, and I have so much to give to you.
