Dear Best Friend,
You know who you are. First off, I wanted to say thank you for still keeping in touch with me even with our busy schedules. Thank you for helping me with my math homework. Thank you for putting up with me. We have been best friends since kindergarten. So once again, thank you for putting up with me for most of my life.
Over the past fifteen years, you have been the person who has cheered me up, been my shoulder to cry on, knocked me down a notch (when it was needed), and most importantly, the person who has made me laugh so hard that I needed to pee. Thank you for all those wonderful memories.
We went to the same school since kindergarten. College came and our number one schools were completely different. To make it worse, our schools were in different states. You wanted to go to school in New York and I was going to stay local. It was going to be the first day in thirteen years that we would not see each other five to six days a week. I was not ready for meeting people and experiencing new things, and possibly making a new best friend.
Luckily, we both settled into college. We both made new friends. I, myself, made a college best friend. But you have also made a college best friend. Even though we made these new friends and new memories, nothing will replace all the memories that we have made over the years. Seriously, you cannot replace fifteen years of memories. And as you say, you will never get rid of me.
So thank you for accepting the fact that I need to order chocolate milk every time I go out. Thank you for letting me come over and watch "Finding Nemo" when my cat died. Thank you for picking me up from the Cheesecake Factory when my cat died because I was "deemed unfit" to drive. Thank you for offering your parents to pick me up when my mom went to the hospital. Thank you for telling me to shut up when I would get upset over the tiniest things. Thank you for the friendship that made people question if we actually hated each other. Thank you for being the best locker neighbor junior year.
Even though, we went through a lot of hard times together, I will never forget all the good. Like all the times in high school where we would go to the movies and go to applebees afterwards. The moments where we would visit each other at work. That time when I went to the bagel shop you worked at and you made my family's order and included notes on the wrapping. Junior year where we were the only two people in our homeroom. Thank you for all the good memories; the best memories, that I will never forget.
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your semester and can't wait to see you over break!
