It's nearly impossible to scroll through Facebook and not see tons of these "Open Letter" articles, so I'm sorry in advance. Nonetheless, my best friend is one of the best parts about me and as we embark on our separate journeys, apart for the first time in years, it seems crucial to remind her just how incredible she is.

Dear Best Friend,

You've been my go-to-gal since we first met. There is no one else in this world who understands me quite like you do. All of my best memories are centered around you and it's so crazy to think we're on the brink of making so many more, now without each other; it's inevitable, and because of this, I definitely want to remind you how much I appreciate you.

You've helped me tackle every problem I've ever faced, and I really don't think I could ever thank you enough for everything you've done for me. Our friendship is definitely a rare one. Your honesty is unmatchable and there's no one who makes me laugh harder.

We're exactly 143 miles apart, and I'm still going to be by your side forever. I'm a phone call away, and we both know we'll utilize that to its full extent. I know you have my back indefinitely and I am eternally grateful for it. No matter how many amazing people we meet respectively, you've become my second sister and this is a friendship that is truly irreplaceable. You are the boldest, funniest, most sarcastic, and big-hearted person I know and you will only ever succeed in all that you do.

Thank you for sharing the love for all of our guilty pleasures (The Bachelor and Moana FTW), for never leaving my side, for jamming out on long car rides with me, for always being up for an adventure, and for being the best friend I've ever had in my 18 years.

I already miss you like crazy, but we both know there's a lifetime of laughs, road trips, amazing playlists and our future husbands and children being best friends ahead of us. Can't wait to be each other's maid of honors!

I love you with all of my heart and I hope you have the time of your life at school; don't you dare find a new best friend!!
