Dear Best Friend,
I hope that you are having the best time ever in college. I hope that you are making great friends that care about you (almost) as much as I do (because no one can care more than I do). I hope that you are getting good grades and doing what you need to do to be successful. I hope the parties are fun, and I hope the guys that you talk to would have my approval.
I know that we can both get caught up in our own lives; being a college student is so stressful and the days fly by like it’s nothing. When I’m in class, you’re not busy. When you’re studying, I’m not busy. When I’m at practice, you call me in need of someone to talk to. When you’re at a social event, I want to update you about the totally awkward thing that just happened to me in the hallway. It’s hard to keep in touch sometimes, and I know that. I feel like we easily have the most conflicting schedules ever. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear about the hot guy in your building that you made eye contact with for a fraction of a second or the exam that you aced. I want to hear the small things and the big things, and although we lead completely different lifestyles, I want you to know that what you have/want to tell me is always important no matter what, and I will never be someone to judge you.
I also want you to know how much I miss you. Since second grade we’ve pretty much been attached at the hip. From being little tomboys catching lizards and playing with mud to getting each other ready for prom, we spent virtually all of our free time together. You’re the person that I can hang out with when I don’t want to talk, but I don’t want to be alone. You are seriously one of the weirdest and most unique people I have ever met, so you can always manage to put a smile on my face even when I am in the worst of moods (and we both know that those can be pretty horrible). You’re one of the only people that I feel okay bawling my eyes out in front of, and you always know what to say or if you shouldn’t say anything at all. There’s nothing that is weird between us, and I appreciate and value our friendship more than anything else. That being said, I seriously miss you so much. I have definitely made some amazing friends here, but I cannot wait to take on the summer with you because we’re definitely going to make it one to remember.
