Rumor has it, if you remain friends with someone for more than seven years, you will be friends forever. I think that is the one rumor we can listen to because my best friend and I have been friends for ten years. We met in the fourth grade, you know, the really ugly stage where you didn’t know how to smile and your hair was 50 shades of disastrous. That’s where we met. This girl and I have been through many ups and downs, and to this day I cannot imagine my life without ever knowing her. She has helped mold me into the person I am today. When I am bad, she makes me see the right path and gets me back on track. When I curse too much, she tells me to watch my mouth. When I need a shoulder to cry on, she is there. She is my best friend.
So to my wonderful best friend of 10 years,
We have seen the bad, the ugly, the mean, the skeletons, the wonderful, the beautiful, and the amazing in each others lives. We have been through the break-ups, the heart aches, the tears, the sickness, and I can’t imagine anyone else knowing as much as you know about me. You know all of my deepest darkest secrets. You even remember the name of my first love in fourth grade. And this is why you are my person. You are my rock and my shield and you know when a boy isn’t good enough for me and I the same for you. You are the person I send screenshots of messages to from a guy, and if a guy messages me, you are the first to know. You are the person who knows exactly what to say to make me better. When my ex does something that makes me want to scream, you know what to say to make me turn the other cheek. You are there for me at four o’clock in the morning when I need you to depict what just happened in my dream. You are the person I cry about missing the most when I have to leave to go back to school. I just spent the whole summer at your house eating all of your food and taking naps in your bed when you’re not even home. And lets face it, when and if we ever find a man to put up with us, he is marrying the both of us because we come as a package deal. We also make sure we push the other to get what we want. Your goals are my goals. if you want to lose 10 pounds, we are both losing those 10 pounds. If you want to say hey to that guy, you will get the biggest pep talk you’ve ever heard. We are there for one another when no one else is. You were my backbone when I didn’t have one and my strength when I had none at all. You steal all of my clothes and make sure to never return, and then eventually do when the time has come. I steal my whole closet back after I get new clothes, and you then steal all of the new clothes. You are the best friend every girl wishes they had, because you are always someone I can go to. I trust you more than anyone in this world, and that is why you and I will remain friends forever. I love you so much, best friend.
