Dear Officially Grown Self,
Whew!! You made it! We’ve had some hard times along the way but girl we made it! By the grace of God and all that’s holy we made it with only a few people feelings getting hurt and no broken bones and a few shed tears ( just a few bruises, scrapes, and fracture, and pulled muscles) I hope that when you read this that things are going well for you. By that time you will be a junior in college and things are probably hectic to death. It’s OK. Just realize….
We’ve conquered far worse!!!
I know that the previous year was a little tough having to learn to adjust with two bad legs now, but guess what? You did it. As I write this letter after the completion of our fall semester of our sophomore year, I can say that we have been able to conquer a lot. Let’s face it we kick butt! Yes ,I know that you just giggled at that joke there.
To be completely honest, I have no idea what lies ahead for us next. I don’t know if there’s love or new friendships? What I can tell you is that I know for a fact that you have blossomed into something that Mama and Auntie Betty would be proud of. I mean look at you. In college, working, all while maintaining your strong loveable (sometimes) personality. Shine my love. Shine. You deserve it. I know that the whole being hit by a car really took a lot out of you, but continue to not let it deter you. Be happy that we’re alive and still sexy! Rock our Heart with pride (You know which Heart I speak of smart mouth)
I can’t help but to wonder what you’re doing as read this. Are you sitting in our dorm room? In the café? Honestly knowing myself I’m probably reading this in some kind of class knowing that I’m supposed to be paying attention. That’s ok. I imagine that we’ve earned it.
I want to leave you with this. I know that with our track record that things are going to continue to get hard. It never fails. Accept it. What I want you to realize is, is the fact that although you’ve grown up now that doesn’t mean that you’re on own. All of those lessons you learned you’ll need them. I hope that the rest of your birthday or whenever you’re reading this goes great. For me…I’m about to finish helping Mama with Midnight. Until next time you Sexy Diva
P.S. Please make sure to stay away from any cars. One care per lifetime!
P.P. S. What was your first bottle that you bought? Just curious!
With Love,
Your Sexy (yet a little younger) Self
