Thanks to my older sister, I was exposed to a lot of great TV shows when I was a kid. Those shows are the ones that have stuck with me from the time I was seven until now (I'm 20). I've laughed. I've cried. I've gotten unreasonably angry and I've sulked for plenty of hours after the season finale.
However, none have matched the intensity that "One Tree Hill," did. My sister and I watched it. Our best friend and her sister watched it. I got to college and found out one of my best friends here also watched it. So with our combined powers, we bring to you 10 times OTH made us bawl.
1. When Nathan and Haley are reunited after he's kidnapped...
Happy tears, for sure... and we can almost make it through this whole scene. But the second Nathan starts tearing up, it's done. Damn you, James Lafferty!
2. The crew signing the river court at the end of Senior Year...
Once again, not really a sad moment. It was just bittersweet. It was like we were graduating with them. Except, you know, we still had to go to school. It was more like everyone from Tree Hill was leaving and that was the exact thing you feared about graduating.
3. Clay and Quinn were shot...
First of all... how dare you. Second of all... how dare you.
4. Jake. Just in general.
This kid broke my heart so much. With everything he went through with his baby mama, then he left, then he reunited with Peyton. Then she proposes and he's stoked and then she calls him Lucas in her sleep and it's just all too much. LEAVE JAKE ALONE!
5. This particular Lucas and Peyton fight...
Quick summary? Luke comes back to Tree Hill (with new girlfriend). Sees Peyton. They get into this fight. She says she buys his book every time she sees it and this: "You said I was great. You said I could be great! You said we were destined to be together. You said it to the world. You said it to me and I wish you hadn't because you didn't mean any of it." Owchhhh.
6. Keith's death...
Once again, how dare you. Keith was one of my favorite characters and Dan was my least favorite and this didn't help ANYTHING. It just made it 10 times worse.
7. Jimmy...
This was one of the first times I saw something like this on TV. Unfortunately, school shootings weren't uncommon to me as a kid. Thank God that I've never been in that situation but I knew they existed. We knew Jimmy since the pilot and this scene was heartbreaking.
8. When Quentin died...
Just rip my heart right out of my chest. Q was finally starting to get his life together. He wasn't the cocky, disruptive student he was when Haley first met him. Jaime loved him. He was an asset to the Ravens. He was getting better grades. But like most things in Tree Hill, you get attached and the writers just destroy it.
9. Quentin's Funeral...
As if we weren't already unstable because of his death, Q's funeral was next in line. From the eulogy to his little brother wearing his Raven's jersey to Jaime putting a cape on his coffin, it was all too much.
10. When Keith Forgave Dan...
I know I said before that I hated Dan and that's true. However, he was starting to prove me wrong. He saved Jamie. He was helping Haley and Nathan out. He knew that what he did made him a horrible person. Then he died but that wasn't the saddest part. He reunited with the brother he murdered and forgave him - once again proving the point that Keith Scott was the best human being to exist ... real or fictional.
