Do you feel like you're missing out on experiences just because you don't like to speak up? Even though you have the greatest ideas in your mind, you just don't speak. When you are in a class and the professor asks the class for participation, you are quiet. Only extroverts are up for that. We introverts do that with everyone. While the colleagues in your workplace are talking about which movie to watch in the weekend, you are just thinking about the next novel you're going to read. Or while some gives you a compliment for a nice sweater, you just smile awkwardly. (Well, I do that.)

We introverts are great at expressing ourselves through writings though. But speaking up in a crowd or sharing your thoughts to someone just doesn't come easy. Well, being an introvert is not bad though. It might seem as if extroverts are popular and liked by everyone but introverts have the capability to impress everyone with their humbleness and intellect. I gathered a few perks of being an introvert.

1. They know themselves the best

Introverts only open up to themselves. They are constantly finding out about themselves. They know exactly what makes them happy and what spoils their mood. They are always analyzing their thoughts to and focusing on what is important to them.

2. Thinking well before speaking

Introverts do not express their feelings before thinking about them carefully. So, they are aware of what they are talking about. They have adequate knowledge in the subject matter. Also, there is a lesser chance of hurting people as they are really considerate about other people's feelings.

3. Great advisers!

You need suggestion about anything, go ask the introverts. Since introverts are analyzers and far-sighted, they have a good understanding of the problem and come up with a rational solution. They are actually interested in what you are saying and think it from the heart.

4. Awesome imagination

Introverts are extremely creative. Don't believe me? Some of the greatest introverts of all time include William Shakespeare, Albert Einstein, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, J.K. Rowling and many more! Introverts have a great imagination. Else, we wouldn't have Harry Potter and Romeo Juliet today.

5. Respect others' privacy

Introverts are considerate about others' personal space. They don't meddle in your life and expect the same from you. They understand that sometimes you just want to be alone and respect that.

6. Great concentration capacity

Introverts can concentrate easily. They can finish a paper at one sitting. Or, they can study for an exam without getting distracted That is really a good advantage to be able to focus on a certain task without your mind roaming anywhere.

7. Great listeners!

Introverts are quiet and hence, good listeners. They will acknowledge your views and thoughts and you can just pour your heart out to them and they can make you feel better.

8. Your secret is safe with them

The other great thing about introverts is that they are secretive along with being a great listener, they are also great at keeping secrets They are a closed door and you won't have to worry finding out about your dark secret from someone else.

9. Independent

Introverts don't need someone to talk to all the time. They are self-sufficient. They seek for their own opinion and communicate to their inner self. They look for a practical approach by trusting their instincts.

10. Eternal friends for life!

Introverts may have a small friends circle but they are for eternity. They understand you very well and connect in a deep level with you. They are with you in your success and downfalls and will never leave your side.

So cheer up introverts! You are special!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
