It's OK If You Don't Attend College Right Away
Jaime Salai

In our society, we push college and higher education. Starting as a child, you are asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" And then, one day, you are all grown up and sometimes you feel lost.

As a high school senior, I thought that I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I was applying to schools for psychology and planned to attend law school. That is not in the slightest what I am doing now. As I went through my first two years at West Virginia University, I changed my major seven times. My GPA suffered because I wasn't sure what I was doing. I felt that I was taking classes that didn't matter.

At 18, you may not have your whole life figured out. It's OK to not have your life completely together. Everyone goes through life at their own pace, and if you don't have it all figured out, it is OK!

Also, there are many other jobs that you can get without a college degree. You can get a technical degree or find other work. You can also enter a certificate program such as cosmetology.

Overall, if you take time off, you can always go back. Going to college isn't for everyone. Take time off if you need it. Just because you don't have a degree does not mean that you are not successful.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
