An Ode To Chicken Nuggets

Chicken nuggets, no matter how large, how small, deep-fried or baked, are the single thing that makes all picky eaters' worlds go 'round. Chicken nuggets are the single thing that us picky eaters cling to for our protein supply for our food, because lord knows we're not going to make a pan-seared piece of fish for dinner -- just pop some chicken nuggets in the oven and you're set.

Chicken nuggets, you have been there for me no matter the time of the night. If it's 2 a.m. and I'm stumbling in from a night out at the bar, you best believe I have a bag of chicken nuggets and fries from CookOut. There is nothing better than a bunch of chicken nuggets after a long night of drinking to make your belly all sorts of happy before you go to sleep. You need that grease to help you get over the hangover you don't even have yet -- chicken nuggets got your back, homie.

Oh, my sweet, sweet chicken nuggets. You go well with anything. If you want to bring mozzarella sticks into the mix, chicken nuggets don't discriminate -- they share the love. They also get along so well with all of my favorite foods -- mac 'n cheese, tater tots, mozzarella sticks, chips and ranch dip. You sure know how to make someone happy. Chicken nuggets also goes well with literally any dipping sauce and still taste amazing. Name a food that you can dip in ranch, barbecue, sweet and sour, honey mustard or ketchup and still be incredibly delicious. I dare you.

Chicken nuggets, you don't care what time I want you, you're always there for me, and for that, I am forever grateful. You do not care how much or how little of you guys that I want. You're just happy that I want you in general, but why wouldn't I?

You've been the best when it comes to making me happy. Have you ever seen someone eating a bunch of chicken nuggets and crying? No? That's because chicken nuggets cure broken hearts and bad days -- they are your best friend when you're upset, and your go-to when you're hungry.

Chicken nuggets, I want to personally thank you for never failing me when I choose you in the drive-thru window, at the grocery store, or at a restaurant. You have never failed me when it came to being happy with my choice for dinner, lunch, or even a late-night snack -- you are the best I ever had, and I love you with all my heart.
