No matter where on the spectrum your political views lie, most of people can at least agree on one thing about the current POTUS: he's a pretty cool guy. Whether you're dreading next January or not, here are 10 things that we'll always remember President Obama for.
1. That time he spoke to Zach Galifinakis about the Affordable Care Act on "Between Two Ferns"
But seriously though -- 3 Hangover movies?
2. When he teamed up with Lin-Manuel Miranda for this freestyle just the other day.The only thing possibly cooler than the POTUS helping the Hamilton star would be if President Obama was the one free-styling.
3. It seems like he's constantly giving people tours of the White House
From Kid President to Ahmed Mohamed to Kendrick Lamar, (although the circumstances vary) Obama's always having friends over.
4. He's the king of embarrassing dad jokesDear Lord, you can see the cringe on Malia and Sasha's faces..
5. He went to Columbia University and Harvard Law
There's nothing cooler than education! Our POTUS has degrees from not one but TWO prestigious universities
6. He went to Alaska and put his survivor skills to the test with Bear Grylls just to raise awareness for climate change (and let us watch!)
What better way to raise awareness about something as important as climate change than to physically go to a place heavily affected by it and show the world?
7. This picture exists
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
8. He and his family sometimes spends Thanksgiving working at local soup kitchens.
It's somewhat humbling to see that the President is aware of the needs of the community he lives in. Here we see President Obama putting the "Giving" back in Thanksgiving.
9. He enjoys listening to jazz and R&B.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, President Obama reveals that some of his all-time favorites are Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Stevie Wonder.
10. He's the first ever African-American president of the US.
Probably the most memorable thing about our President is how he made history in 2008 by becoming the first African-American POTUS and inspiring millions of African-Americans nationwide.
It's been an interesting 8 years, Mr. President, but I'm glad you were there to remind us that it's possible to be both a politician and an actual real-life person at the same time.
