There are many things that I am glad I have been alive for, but the thing that brings the most joy to my heart is that we elected Barack Obama for president, not only once but twice. I remember seeing him go through the campaign process and I watched him with admiration. He was so confident, strong, and presented himself with pure grace. To my surprise, he was elected for presidency and thats when I knew our world had been changed forever. Our world changed for the better. I could talk for hours about my love for Obama, but instead, look at the greatness this man has brought.

1. Barack Obama claimed the label as Feminist

Feminism is a dirty word amongst many, but not Obama. He used his position to advocate for all females. He spent time talking about our struggles, our experiences, and the life we are made to live. He sparked a movement of change for many women and opened up the conversation in many households. He made me feel noticed and I have never even met the man.

2. He provided health care to about 18 million more Americans.

There are millions of people who are alive, today, because of Obamacare. They were able to afford their treatment, hospital stay, and life. Many children have written thank you letters, many people have shared their stories, and all those people are here because of Obama.

3. Obama raised two inspirational and real young women.

These young ladies have lived up their youth, while maintaining grace throughout these 8 years. They have gotten jobs out in the ‘real world’, they have spoken on level issues, and they still own who they are. He has presented them with an amazing environment to grow up in and you can tell that they have grown up beautifully.

4. Obama has displayed such an intense and pure love for Michelle

It is almost necessary for some scandal to happen while the president occupies the white house, but Obama did nothing but show the world what true love looks like. He puts Michelle first, he talks about her with the utmost respect and admiration, and he provides her encouragement to bloom and become better than ever before. Lets just say, #goals.

5. Obama puts his family first, and that includes bo ;)

This type of thing probably doesn't seem that inspiring but it is. You have a man who has a job of making this country everything it can be and he still spends time with the people and things that mean most. He is a down-right family man, and It is obvious that Bo is very appreciate of that.

6. Obama and Biden. Nuff said.

Truly, I have never seen such a pure relationship in the whitehouse, outside of family. These two provided laughs in the form of memes, they became brothers, and they showed us the love that resided in the white house. Honestly, these two show a friendship that is unbreakable.

7. This man was more than a president, he was one of us.

I believe it is hard to find a president who understand he is one of us, but Obama puts that first. He interacts with civilians with nothing but respect and gratitude. He is never ‘too good’ to be on the floor playing with a child or out in the court playing some ball. He’s nothing but real.

8. The man has got jokes.

Obama knows how to cater to his audience. He is funny, relatable, and just one of us. He stays in on current events and uses them to relate to his audience. Most of the time, I forget hes the president and just think he is the man that everyone should aspire to be.

9. Obama is a DIME.

Just look at him. Take a good look and tell me you wouldn't chase after him in the rain if you were in a good romcom movie. He’s worthy of being chased after. He's a handsome, handsome man. #MCM

10. He is Obama and we’re losing a treasure.

This man cares about the country. This man cares about the good in the world. This man cares about each and every one of us. He is the best damn president I may ever see in my lifetime. I am blessed to have been a witness to such an inspirational human being.

Thank you, Obama. You may be the hardest goodbye the US will face, but we are excited for what is in store for you. We're also waiting for Michelle to be our next president.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
