The big apple is the perfect place to visit for an adventurous summer day. However, common tourist attractions like Time Square and Central Park don't even compare to the city’s hidden treasures. During a trip to New York City make sure to hit some of these perfect summer spots:

1. The High Line

One of NYC's most recent hidden attractions is the High Line, an old railroad platform that has been transformed into the most breathtaking park. The High Line stretches across Manhattan's West Side, touching spots like Chelsea and the Meatpacking District with its eco-friendly and relaxing ambiance. Travel along the railroad trails during the day to see vibrant flowers and artwork or during the night to see trails illuminated by beautiful lights. You won't want to miss it.

2. Artichoke Basille’s Pizza

Also in the area of Chelsea grab a slice at Artichoke Basille's Pizza. With a pizza selection ranging from the famous artichoke pizza to yummy meatball parm, you can't go wrong with this delicious thick crust heaven.

3. Chelsea Piers

Want to try figure skating, go rock climbing, play ice hockey, and hit golf balls right on the waterfront? Go to Chelsea Piers for a day full of endless activities to choose from. And the view of the sparkling water when you do it all? That's priceless.

4. Brother Jimmy's

Head over by Madison Square Garden to taste barbecue bliss. Brother Jimmy's is the ultimate barbecue restaurant, serving beer, sports entertainment, and its famous pulled pork nachos. If you are attending any sports game at MSG you have no excuse to miss out on this perfect pre-game meal.

5. Light shows under the Brooklyn Bridge

Sure you've probably driven over the Brooklyn Bridge, but have you ever been underneath it? The light shows that are displayed underneath the bridge are truly incredible and unlike anything else.

6. Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

The Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory combines delicious treats with a fantastic view. Lick up all that Vanilla Chocolate Chunk ice cream as you capture the beauty of the Brooklyn Bridge lit up at night.

7. Doughnut Plant

Tres Leches, Doughseeds, Blackout, Green Tea, and Carrot Cake are just some of the numerous donut flavors that Doughnut Plant bakes. With its four locations across New York City, Doughnut Plant is completely dominating the new obsession and trend of donuts. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy a donut you can't get anywhere else.

8. Rooftop Films

There's no better place to watch good movies, spend time with friends, and enjoy the outdoors than Rooftop Films. Venues across the city spring up as event dates arrive, ensuring an exclusive and exciting experience to all who come. Watch out drive-in movie theaters, Rooftop Films is coming for ya.

9. Farmer’s Market

One of the most unique aspects of New York City is its farmer's markets. Everywhere you look you can find fresh fruit and vegetables for a good price. Not only will your purchases be delicious, but your experience will be even better after undergoing the friendliest and most welcoming atmosphere around.

10. The Sugar Factory

The Sugar Factory is by far the coolest venue you will visit all summer. Its Goblets Drinks include a variety of flavors such as the Ocean Blue and the Berry Bliss. Each drink is unique with different juices, candy, and other sweets inside. Whether its a virgin or alcoholic version, I ensure you that this drink will definitely be one of the highlights of your summer.

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
