Thoughts While Traveling On The NYC Subway

This is the downtown 1 train. Next stop is 238th street. Stand clear of the closing doors.

Thoughts While Traveling On The NYC Subway

With the convenience of living in New York City, comes the many thrilling experiences on public transportation. The 1 train has become my second home, and the things that I have seen are unimaginable. Thoughts that run through my mind while traveling through NYC include many of the following:

1. Why do I have to swipe again at this turnstile I swiped my card six times already.

2. I wonder how many people have touched this pole. It's hot and moist, ew.

3. Please don't stop short. Please don't let me fall all over these people.

4. Thank god I got a seat I cannot stand any longer.

5. Did I really forget my headphones? What am I going to do?

6. I wonder if he/she is single.

7. I wonder what language they are speaking.

8. I should probably give up my seat.

9. Okay good, someone else got up, I can just sit here.

10. How many more stops until I get off?

11. Wait, can I even transfer here?

12. Wow, I really like her outfit.

13.There's someone I know. I'll just pretend I don't see them so we don't have to make small talk.

14. Here we go, another performance. I don't want to give money, but I feel bad. Look away slowly.

15. Should I switch carts?

16. No, I'm scared, what if I fall through the tracks when I open the door.

17. JUST STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOORS ALREADY, I HAVE SOMEWHERE I NEED TO BE.

18. YES, I have service!

19. Wait never mind, back under ground.

20. I wish they sold food on here.

21. This is the 21st century. When will the subways have wifi?

22. Of course, I get the cart with no AC.

23. It's getting really packed. Stay calm, stay calm.

24. Please stop looking at me. Don't try to talk to me. NO, I MADE EYE CONTACT.

25. The motion sickness is kicking in. No sudden movements. Look straight. Don't think.

26. Please don't sit next to me. Please don't sit next to me. Please don't.... I must look approachable.

27. I wonder what kind of music he's listening to. He looks like the type that would listen to classical.

28. One more stop, I need to gather my things. And check the seat 20 times to make sure I didn't forget anything.

29. Oh my god that creep is getting off at the same stop as me.

30. Now I need to transfer and start this process over again.

31. I really wish I didn't forget my headphones.
