Top 5 NYC Eats Under $12

Because not everyone can drop $30 on a sandwich!

Top 5 NYC Eats Under $12

Let's face it, New York City is expensive! As a college student, I am always looking for good food at a great price. This is usually pretty tough to find, so here are some of my absolute favorite spots in New York City that are budget friendly and taste amazing too.

Indikitch- $11.99

Indikitch can best be described as an Indian food Chipotle. They have many locations in areas such as Columbus Circle, Rockefeller Center, and Times Square. There are all types of fast and easy Indian foods here, but the best deal, I think, is the "Live Fire® Feast." For $11.99, you can get a main dish and four sides! There are so many combinations you could make, but my personal favorite would be the Chicken Tikka Masala with sides of basmati rice, classic dal, carrots and cashews, and garlic naan. The meal is very filling and worth it for the price.

Miznon- $11.50

Miznon is a Mediterranean restaurant located in Chelsea Market. They have all types of Mediterranean foods but specialize in pitas. My personal favorite is the "Steak and Egg" Pita. It is a delicious pita that is given a fresh taste from tomatoes, sour cream, and cucumbers. For $11.50 it is an extremely good price as it is a large meal.

Yaso Tangbao- $3.95

Yaso Tangbao is located about three blocks from Grand Central making it a super convenient location for any commuter. They have fantastic soup dumplings for great prices! I would recommend trying the spicy pork soup dumplings. They are super cheap at $3.95 for one order. They even provide special soup dumpling spoons and a dipping sauce station for you to customize your soy sauce flavor to be exactly how you like it. Although I usually skip the soy sauce, many people choose to take the traditional soy sauce and make it spicy by adding their sauces to it. The overall value for the meal is outstanding. $3.95 for four dumplings is a steal and definitely fills you up!

Los Tacos No. 1- $3.95

Los Tacos No. 1 is a not-so-secret gem inside Chelsea Market. Even though the line is very long, the tacos at the end are definitely worth it. Customers can see the people making their tacos in a rapid-fire assembly line style. I would highly recommend the Carne Asada Taco (grilled steak) at $3.95 or the Adobada Taco (marinated pork) at $3.75. Both are great deals and extremely filling. My only warning is do not wear a white shirt when you go. The tacos are delicious and filled with sauce making it a great meal to dig in on at a low budget!

 The Casbah Halal Cart- $5.00

You can't talk about cheap meals in New York without throwing in a halal cart, and The Casbah is one of the best out there. It is located on the corner of 66th St. and Columbus Ave. The Casbah has a ton of traditional halal food as well as cheese steaks and hamburgers. However, I think their best dish has to be their Combo Platter. It is chicken and lamb with rice, a salad, and their specialty white sauce. It is a huge portion for its price of $5.00 making it, in my opinion, the best deal. (Ask for extra white sauce too!)

There is not a consistent standard for health education in the United States. There are a lot of variables that go into this — what state a student lives in, whether they go to a public or private school, and the district's funding and priorities. These variables can be argued for any subject, not just health class. But as we continue to grow as a society, hopefully bettering our education system along the way, it's crucial to consider this often-forgotten element of a child's schooling.

In March, the whole country shut down. School was online, extra-curriculars were canceled, and I found myself laying in bed all day every day. One day, as I was laying in bed contemplating my laziness, I decided that I wanted to do something to make myself more healthy. I was feeling so down on myself and my laziness so I decided to make a change.

The Neighbourhood, Bad Suns and The Driver Era are three Los Angeles bands that released songs this month. Not only was it a month for Los Angeles bands, but many Australian bands released new music — San Cisco's fourth studio album, Surf Trash single, Skegss single, and High Tropics single. I made new discoveries this month and was pleased by the amount of new music.

Staying Active While You're Stuck Inside IS Possible, It Just Takes Some Small Steps

I know the last thing you want to think about right now is exercising, but it's time to put down the controller and put on your workout clothes.

As someone who has also been living on a bed since March, I can guarantee you that working out has been the last thing on my priority list. It's pretty far down there, along with my motivation and brain cells I used to use for work. However, I have made an effort in the past couple of weeks to move up exercising to at least number three on my priorities list.

Going into rehab when I was 19 was hands down the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life. My addiction started when I was around 17 and spiraled and spiraled out of control, as addictions always do. However, looking back, I'm so lucky my addiction started and ended when it did.

7 Things Your Partner Can Do To Support You When You Have PCOS

Don't be afraid to ask for help or comfort if you need it.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) may not be totally visible to the eye, which makes it a lot harder for your partner to understand what's going on with your body.

If you are in a relationship, it's important that you communicate your PCOS symptoms with your partner. I say "your" symptoms specifically because everyone's symptoms are different.

One Indictment, Three Charges, And No Justice For Breonna Taylor

We can't settle for this decision or a system that is fundamentally broken and unequal.
