It has been noted that 2016 was pretty much a troubled year for many. We were all faced with dilemmas and resentment. However, more times than none we look back at that chaos and believe that all things happen for a reason. Like numerology we try to make connections as to why something happened and for what reason. In numerical terms 2016 was a 9 year (2+0+1+6=9). A 9 year represents the end of a cycle, a year of completion and revisitation. Looking back, we can all make the correlation to the fact that we have all drew an end to some aspect in our lives, for some more crucial than others. With all ends come new beginnings, which is exactly what 2017 is deemed for. 2017 is classified in numerology as a 1 year (2+0+1+7=10 which is just broken down to 1+0=1). One represents a start, a beginning. In the year 2017, we are all called to start anew, express our unique qualities, and show our leadership skills that will ultimately open us up to new outlooks on life.

So what does numerology say about 2017?
If we look at it number by number we will get the sense of what a bright and peaceful year we hopefully have in store. The number 2 represents harmony and strength. It stands for the willingness we have to achieve for ourselves and others. Two is also known as the caring and nurturing number in numerology and perhaps that means that in society we will finally unify or if not maybe we will practice peace individually within our own before taking it to the bigger world.

Next is 0, zero is perfectly described as both nothing and everything. It is also the infinite perfection of our creator, and represents our connection with God. The zero stands for a perfect circle without beginning or an end. Potentially, this means an everlasting serenity within our hearts and minds.

Now onto the number 1, the most powerful number in numerology. The 1 is a number that represents going out and doing. It stands for a force that produces results and will not allow anything to come between it's potential and the mindset to getting it done. Hopefully this means that whatever anyone was struggling with in the past means that it will no longer effect out minds negatively and we will all be able to move forward stronger than ever before.

And finally, lucky number 7. The number 7 is understood to be the foundation of God's word (used 735 times in the Bible). 7 is the number of completeness and perfection (both physical and spiritual). What a better way to think of what this new year has in store for us? A year full of blessings and perfection.

In the end of it all it is important that we go into this new year refreshed and determined to start new with the new chance to start fresh. In order to love who you are you must love the occurrences that shape you. 2016 may not have been the best year, but it taught us a lot. Violence and hate is not the answer. Judgement upon anything or anyone defines who you are, not them. 2016 has officially come to an end which is exactly what it was defined to do. But here we are at a new beginning of a "beginning" year. Make the most of it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
