To my wonderful nana,

I don't know what I would do without you, you mean everything to me. You are so much more to me than just my nana, you are my support system. When things go wrong you're always there to help me fix them. You support me in everyway you can even though we're four hours apart. You have been there for me ever since I was born and I can't thank you enough. You do so much for me and I am so grateful. I don't knowwhere I would be today if it was not for your love and kindess. Growing up, you taught me so many things without knowing.

You taught me to never give up. If you really wanted something, you wouldn't stop looking for it. Even if it was something as simple as a shirt, if you liked it you'd go to every target in the area until you found it. It may seem silly but you going out and about to get that shirt you wanted taught me so much. Just beause one place didn't have it in your size another would. Just like if yor really want to do something in life, do it. Don't just give up if a place turns you down or something didn't flow right, try again.

You taught me to stand up for myself and the people I love. I have seen you stand up for me and other people in our family. I admire you so much for that beacause it is not always easy. You have no problem doing it though. If you think someone is being treatly unfairly, you have no problem standing up for them and making sure someone is always in their corner.

You taught me how to shop. Honestly not sure if this is a good or bad things but I consider you and I to be proshoppers. We can go shopping all day until we find what we really want. We don't give up until we got everything we wanted and needed. Sometimes we even shopping for some retail therapy which helps so much with stress from college.

You taught me to help others when they need it. You help me all the time especially right now with everything going on. You help everyone and anyone if they ask because that is just the kind of person you are. You are sweet, you are kind and you are caring. You have helped me when I needed winter clothes, school supplies, and food so I don't always have to eat the crappy school food. You even try to help me figure out everything with school and do your best to help me over all the obstacles I'm hit with.

You have always done so much for me, I hope to do the same for you one day. You inspire me everyday to keep going and push through. You help me when things get rough and remind me everything will get better. Many people say I am lucky to have someone like you in my life and they're right. You are so much more than just a grandmother to me. You are my stability, you are my rock. I couldn't do this without you. I am so thankful to be able to call you my nana. You are the most amazing person I have ever met. Thank you for always loving me and supporting me through everything. I love you to the moon and back.

Love,

Cyn

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
