Don't Ever Settle

"someday all the love you've given away will find it's way back to you and it will finally stay."

We’ve all been there; fed up with relationships and all the heartache that come along with them. Far too often I’ve listened to people complain about being unhappy in their relationships and for the life of me I just can’t understand why they decide to stay complacent.

I have learned that one of the most important things when it comes to relationships is that you should never, ever settle. Be with someone who makes you happy, because believe me, it’s worth it.

Be with the person that gets your stupid jokes and still laughs at them when they’re not that funny.

Be with the person who sends you a text in the middle of the day just to say they’re thinking about you.

Be with the person who writes messages to you on a sticky note when you’re not looking.

Be with the person who dances with you in the middle of the driveway.

Be with the person who makes you a mix-tape just to show you some songs they like.

Be with the person who brings you your favorite coffee when you’re having a long day.

Be with the person who stops by to bring you a milkshake when you’re having a bad day.

Be with the person who makes your toes curl just by kissing you.

Be with the person who reminds you how lucky they are to have you or how beautiful they think you are.

Be with the person who will take silly pictures with you and never complain about it.

Be with the person who supports you in every little thing that you do.

Be with the person who pushes you a little out of your comfort zone and challenges you to new things.

The little things in relationships really do go the farthest; at least in my mind. You and your partner should be a team. Be “goals” or whatever everyone else is calling it these days. When you finally decide to stop settling for mediocre and give someone new a chance you will see how truly amazing it is.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
