Why this slogan is inaccurate description of what feminism is, and how it causes more divide

Not Here for "Pussy Power"

The whole point of feminism is to create change, ensuring the equal treatment of all sexes.

To recognize intellect, power, beauty and unique arrays of voices—and realize that these factors are not mainly dependent on our sexual organs.

I say mainly because I understand that one has lived in a world where society blatantly barricades certain tools, information, and opportunities simply because of gender.

Living in a world where it okay to disregard and inflict pain on women with no repercussions.

The State's grabby hands, raping you of your choice to even say yes, or no I don't want this baby growing inside of me- the decision is already made for you. The countless times that law has failed women,

RAPIST Brock Turner with three months for raping women on three different accounts

RAPISTS Don Hill and Osa Masina raping a young lady and snap chatting it

RAPIST Daniel Holtzclaw, an ex Oklahoma police officer convicted of 18 of 36 accounts of raping specifically Black women, and had been doing this for 2 years, while remaining on the force.

RACIST ABUSER Eric Casebolt- a resigned cop who beat and manhandled a young Black 13-year-old girl in response to a call for an incident already started by racism towards the young children just trying to have fun. (Two white women jeered at the children to “go back to their section 8 homes" and even smacked one of the girls, Tatyana Rhodes, in the face).

And many more.

All of these crimes centered towards women, intrusions and weird ideologies that society has taught us to be sexually aggressive, that we ARE our genitalia, to not be informed with ourselves, our emotions or other peoples' and to rely on gender roles to make it through life.

To view our bodies to be either be objectified, but, all the while scorning them.

So, naturally, people have turned to “pussy power" as a strong way to combat the negative connotations with vaginas and laws that are to be targeted against people with them. The pink taxes that force women to pay more for items that should be a necessity--- tampons, and pads.. .hey, unless you'd be okay with women everywhere free bleeding, but I forgot that'd be DISGUSTING, why did I even bring it up?

Have turned “pussy power" into something to claim our sexuality for OURSELVES not for society to tell us to 'show skin' and decide how much of it we should show and for who.

“Pussy Power" because we have strength in being a woman, that there is strength in vaginas.

And while that is true, those two facts are not exclusive.

Because: Not all women even have vaginas.

If you write out transwomen in the narrative, you have conceded that women ARE just solely based on what parts you have down there. You have written out intersex women, who are born with both sexual characteristics of a man and woman (having breasts whilst born with a penis, or maybe even having a vagina and testes, etc.)

You have set a hierarchy within the community of women- deciding who is the most important and the most visible while stripping other diverse women of their narratives and obstructed rights.

Because: Not all of the sexism laws are centered around our genitalia--- it affects us in all areas, in the workforce, in school, in paying, in being in high positions, it is saturated in all politics.

Because: you aren't being mindful how sexism is affecting everyone, including men- who then perpetuate what they've learned:

Society prodding itself into countless men's heads- desperately rutting the idea: “you can't cry" into countless men and young boys heads, their minds being filled with self-doubt and achy, pent up emotion- causing lashing out instead of communicating because “that's what bitches, pussys, and gays do".

Whispering, “you can't be raped or sexual assault unless you're a boy- and even then be happy that you have that experience". Utterly horrific.

Because: from day one, they wanted the dialogue to be about our genitalia and not that we are people in the first place.

Womanism and Intersectional Feminism have fought so hard to keep the floor open.

To let all the narratives be heard without blurring others' voices, as well.

To talk about how racism, sexism, ableism, classism, and many more schisms coalesce.

Don't water Feminism down by basing it down to body parts again.

That centers a discussion on the debasing of a person to their uteri or lack of one, instead of holding them as a person-- to accepted to be responsible for their actions and have equal protection and opportunities.

Of course, there needs to be some serious reform happening, of course, women need to able to have power over their own bodies and their own choices. But there are so many things that come with that; so many elements that go untouched upon in the sea of pink paintings of boobs and vagina- that some women might not even have.

Let's talk about it all:

The chains on uteri.

The denial of good health care for transwomen.

The separation and erase of Black women and the pain and trauma we experience on a day to day bases.

The "macho mentality" men and boys feel like they have to succumb to.

The rape culture for not holding guys accountable for their actions, and the shame thrown on women and girls.

After all, this fight is about the equal treatment of people.

They think they can write us out of “history", can blot out the bubbling anger in our guts, as they did with our names of our perpetrators and these cases that go mysteriously under the radar.

They think if they keep ignoring us, we will fickle down into tactile desensitized drones.

They think they can cash crop our pain into gold. Profit off of ignorance, hatred, and self hated.

They think they can continue to let laws hold the barriers of the beautiful rush of rebellion, eroding these walls.

Fuck them and their walls.

The war is happening.

Now look in the mirror and see if you see yourself as the new revolutionary.

You can start by breaking the divide.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
