Summer activities that can curb that summer boredom

Although we are in the midst of summer, it is not too late to get the most out of the extra free time. Most of these summer activities can be done even if you have a summer job or internship.

1. Take a day trip to the beach or the lake.

Since there's free time to have more fun, a day trip to the lake or beach with friends can be a chance to have some fun and relax on those hot summer days.

If a day trip to a lake or beach or lake is not possible, then a pool party is something that is just a sum. If the swimming pool is lighted, a night swim is also an excellent way to cool off after a long, hot summer day.

2. Create a summer project.

Whether its arts and crafts or something as simple as Catching up on a book, Tv, show, or movies. For me, it's learning to perfect homemade Thai Iced Tea. I am also intent on finishing a coloring book I bought last summer and reading "A Farewell to Arms" by Hemmingway by the end of summer.

Your summer project can be a simple idea that only lasts a day or something that can be worked on throughout the summer (such as restoring an old car).

3) Take a summer class.

It doesn't necessarily have to be related to your major. Most universities and junior colleges offer summer classes that range from general education to classes more related to one's major. It is an excellent way to get ahead in your college career (or quickly make up any failed classes during the semester).

Many community centers also offer classes that focus on arts and crafts or any other types of hobbies you wish to achieve. Some even offer classes on creative writing, which can be less costly than a creative writing course offered at a University. It's a great way to start a hobby or creative ideas without hurting your wallet.

4. Restart that exercise regiment

Although people typically work on their bodies before the summer season, it is not too late to catch up on your exercise routine. In fact, the extra free time can give you a chance to establish an exercise routine that works well into the Fall semester.

Whether its biking, running, or a trip to the gym, summer is a great opportunity to find a good exercise routine. It can also be a great time to change up your exercise routine, especially if you're used to working out indoors.

5. Go for a hike.

Whether it's the dirt path in your local city park or a trip to the mountains, a hike is a great way to get outdoors and make the most out of a summer day.

Most hiking trails are rated from easy to rigorous, so there is a trail for everyone.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
